Carrie Morey of Callie’s Charleston Biscuits, the buttery, made-by-hand biscuits that grace the dinner table of thousands of homes across the country, takes a look on Taigan to shop her summer picks.
Spring is here, which for me means summer is around the corner! I am getting excited about summer weather and sun, as well as shopping for my wardrobe and gifts and entertaining pieces for my house… here are a few of my favorite picks!
I gotta have new sunglasses for the season–I love big 60s style glasses that cover my face!
I love this gift idea for kids from belle chevre–I am always looking for more excuses to get my girls in the kitchen!
When having or serving cocktails, I’m a stickler for cocktail napkins! I like linen and famous for quickly ironing them as my guests walk in the door!
If money were no object this would be my next gift to my husband and myself. This skiff is elegant and I can see myself floating down the Teton River fly fishing while my husband rows–of course!
Iris and Co knows style! I love all their pieces and this cutting board shouts summer charcuterie on my back porch with a bunch of friends for an evening supper party–no plates or forks, just fingers and beautiful presentation!
For my next party, I’m going to order these custom wrapped hand made ice cream sandwiches! Not only are they delish, but what a great party favor for the end of the evening!
My husband is a Manhattan Beach, California native. These skateboards remind me of him and I think it would make the perfect Father’s Day present along with a great activity to do with our girls!
How adorable are these bread warming biscuits baskets? I not only need these for my home, but they would be a great thing to sell with my biscuits!
I am a sucker for cheese and crackers! I have been dying to taste these amazing cheeses from Thomasville. I hear they are the best, not to mention a great gift idea.
My three girls are going through a non girly-girl phase – meaning any “dress” needs to be sporty! This dress screams easy summer comfort!
I need this portable “thirst” bag for our evening hikes in the Grand Teton Mountains and our horseback pack trips–what a great idea–also would be useful to take to the beach!
I like to have a little piece of chocolate after every meal. This handmade chocolate peanut butter cup is what I’m craving most!
Who can resist these adorable throwaway placemats. Perfect for my summer outside picnic parties!
This Father’s Day I will be sending my Dad his absolute favorite–Caroline’s Coconut Cake! Nothing but the best for the best Dad around!
My favorite thing about Summer eating is cooking outside. Gena’s cedar planks make me look like a star at every meal. And her cookbook is fabulous too!
Carrie Morey founded Callie’s Charleston Biscuits in 2005 with the goal of making the tender, buttery, made-by-hand biscuits of her mother accessible across the country. Touted by Saveur, Food & Wine, Southern Living, The New York Times and Oprah among others, her biscuits have garnered freezer space in some of the most coveted retail stores in America. Using no machinery whatsoever and with only the finest ingredients, Morey and her small team of bakers are keeping the tradition of Southern biscuit making alive. With seven different varieties of biscuits, a pimento cheese collection, and retailers all over the country, Morey never dreamed that success would taste so good – buttery good that is. Her products are a one-time NASFT (National Association of Specialty Food Trade) gold sofi award recipient and seven-time silver sofi award recipient. MORE on Carrie.
