Streamlined Luxury

While I appreciate layered patterns and vibrant colors, streamlined pieces with a modern sensibility feel the most true to me. I tried filling my apartment with lots of ikat and batiks but in the end, I longed for the simplicity of pared down classics. I've started to notice a trend among the clothes and objects I buy: I gravitate towards minimalist pieces with an element of luxury. I can't resist a simple boat neck sweater in sumptuous alpaca or a basic tray wrapped in an indulgent material. I've made up my mind to stop chasing trends (for now anyway) and only let pieces with clean lines and timeless appeal into my home.

Gervis Design Studio Black Jade Bowl

I love the simple architecture of this jade bowl. I'd use it as an elegant objet amidst stacks of books on a coffee table or let it stand alone on a spare console.

And George Cylinder Vase

The classic cylinder shape is updated with a modern, reflective finish. This vase is interesting on its own but could be equally lovely as a hurricane or holding a bunch of fresh flowers.

House of Lavande Napier Gold and Brown Tortoise Necklace

I'm not much of a jewelry person (I find all that bling to be too garish!) but I'm obsessed with this collar necklace from House of Lavande. The combination of gold and tortoise feels sumptuous yet understated, not at all flashy. Can you imagine it paired with a simple black column dress or even underneath a clean button-up? Very chic!

Vince Horizontal Rib Boat Neck Sweater

I want to live in this sweater all year long! Woven from super soft alpaca and merino wool, it has a tailored yet slouchy drape. I'd throw it over a pair of skinny jeans to bestow a bit of luxury to a casual ensemble.

Odin 04: Petrana

I love the sultry scents and minimal packaging of Odin's fragrances. Petrana combines black iris and violet leaf for an enticing effect.

Ultimate Bespoke Service Individual Custom Eyewear

Book-worm chic has never looked so good! What's best, this Texas-based company can carve these tortoise frames to fit your face exactly. Finally, reading glasses that are sure to stay in place and grant you an air of bookish elegance.

Hollyhock Medium Stash Tray

I love how this basic square tray is made unique by a rich material. It's the perfect catchall for my entryway table: my keys, wallet, even loose change will have a stylish resting place.

Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Hair Oil

Everything about Linda Rodin's Olio Lusso collection connotes modern luxury: from the clean typeface on the label to the rich blend of essential oils. I use a few drops of this to transform my damaged hair into lustrous locks.

Imperio JP Crocodile Long Wallet

A luxe wallet that will last a lifetime. It's beautifully crafted with enough pockets to keep me organized.

Claridge + King The Taylor Shirtdress

I'm always searching for dresses that look chic and require minimal effort. This crisp blue shirtdress is a classic, sure to look good forever.

Mattioli Tibet Ring

I love the texture of this deceptively simple ring, which looks as if it's been coiled around your finger. The bold thickness of the band makes this a striking, standalone accent.

Scents and Feel Shawl Silk Bouclette

Though made of 100% silk, I love how the graphic white stripes give this shawl a breezy, relaxed quality. It's the perfect summertime cover-up.

Christian Louboutin Rock and Gold Black Suede Boot

I love the sculptural shape and soft suede of these ankle boots. I'd wear these with skinny jeans or wide-leg trousers this fall.

Jacqueline by Ron Galella

I'm coveting this collection of images by Ron Galella, famed photographer and/or stalker (depends on how you look at it), of the ultimate modern American icon, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Just the cover says it all: no jewelry, a simple cape with a great silhouette, and a legacy of enduring style.
