Veranda Editor Eugenia Santiesteban Soto shops Taigan for the “Modern Desert” vibe that she is craving. Read about how this sophisticated hippie plans on using her picks.

I've spent a lot of time in the Southwest in the last few years since my husband is from Arizona. And while it took me a while to fall in love with the climate (it's so incredibly drying!), I've truly come to love the landscape in all its muted hues and the less-is-more lifestyle. Though I'm truly a classicist at heart, these days I just want to give up my life on the East Coast and trade it all in for a streamlined adobe house with a spare interior and miles and miles of desert surrounding me. No more beach or mountain escapes! This summer, I'm craving a modern desert living.

And George Modern Leather Lantern: I love the combination of streamlined and rugged in this metal lantern, I'd group a bunch of these outside whilst entertaining

Rag&Bone Sigrid Sandal: Rag & Bone designs the clothes I want to live every day of my life in. I can see these sandals becoming a summertime staple — and the touch of orange elevates them beyond the standard sandal.

Giles & Brother Railroad Spike Cuff: There's a slight Manifest Destiny quality to this bracelet — it reminds of what the settlers building the railroad would've found and fashioned into a super-chic bracelet.

And George Handmade Leather Box: The most beautiful catch-all I've ever seen — it has an Hermès-like quality to it and it looks like the leather will just keep on aging > and getting better. It's just the thing I've been searching for to corral my mess of mail.

VPL OGJM Salaka Desert Camo Necklace: The combination of materials in the necklace is ingenious — who would've ever thought orange rope and brass would be so good-looking? And I love that it would add a little color and glimmer to my sandy-hued wardrobe.

Ann Koerner Antiques Snake Plate: From an antiques dealer in New Orleans whose taste and eye I've always admired — plus, I love the sense of humor this piece has!

Rag & Bone Wooster Dress: This is like a cooler, more modern version of a djellabah, minus the bulky sleeves. Or maybe just my version of what to wear in the desert!

Blackberry Farm Heirloom 3 Pack Seed Sampler: Heirloom seeds of basil, tomato, sunflower, or okra — what more could I ask for if living off the land?

Strange Invisible Perfumes Fire & Cream Eau de Parfum: The most wonderful smelling patchouli fragrance ever — and it's balanced out with orange blossom, sandalwood, and vetivier, all the most delicious smells in the world. I almost want to eat it!

And George Chestnut Leather Tote: Just the right amount of slouchiness in a gorgeous deep terracotta color.

Nga Waiata Amazonite Medium Ring: This ring looks like it was plucked straight from the earth — and the color is subtle and ever-changing, too.

Kai Body Lotion: The all-natural ingredients in Kai's moisturizer smell like the pure outdoors –in the very best sense of the word.

Neriage Morning Cup in Blue: I never start they day without morning tea of coffee — and I love the Navajo-like quality of this stoneware one. I can just picture getting up to a Western sunrise with this in hand.

Anichini Olga Linen Bath Sheets and Donata Linen Towel Collection: These linen towels come in a dreamy neutral palette of solids and stripes — the perfect complement to an all-natural way of living.

Imperio JP Dop Kit: I'm forever searching for a dopp kit that's not super-girlie. Even though this is meant for men, I love it for that very reason. And the pebbled leather makes it luxe.

Far 4 Irene Wood Wilma's Rocks Necklace: As the name implies, this bold and super-size collar necklace is straight out of the Flintstones! And I love the play on scale and shape. It'd be so great to dress up jeans and a T-shirt.

Anichini Italia Cotton Blankets: These creamy blankets would add a little pattern and texture to a neutral-toned interior, just like the one I dream of living in.

And George Turqoise Book: An ode to the the seminal stone of the Southwest — finally, turquoise gets its due in this beautifully photographed coffee-table tome!
