Thomas Hamel is an award-winning international interior designer and founder and director of Thomas Hamel & Associates. An international background has trained Thomas’ eye away from the fashions and gimmickry in decoration; so, while keeping in touch with trends, there is an underlying current of timeless tradition in his interiors. In addition to undertaking numerous prestigious residential and hospitality projects across the globe, Thomas’ bespoke projects include the release of his first publication “Residence”, launching a collection of individually designed, hand-printed fabrics, and a custom designed furniture range. Here Thomas shops Taigan for the yacht that his client recently purchased.

“It was the perfect time to consult Taigan online shopping as I have a deadline for accessorizing a new yacht that my clients have purchased from the Monaco Yacht Show – one stop shopping!!”

Graphite Pattern Pillow – I was very excited seeing these for their graphic contemporary impact, just what we need to personalize the white sofas.

Men’s Badger Brush & Shave Set – Black – Very smart black accessories for each cabin also, every man should have a set like this.

Emma Velvet Chair – Wow. I thought this chair has a great shape – I am going to convince the clients to replace the chairs that came with the boat for these – much more personality and a perfect  scale.

Bloody Mary Mix Bender x 4 – Being from Norfolk, Virginia Beach myself I was thrilled to see this Bloody Mary mix in such great looking bottles. I will have the ship steward set up a tray of bottles on the back deck for weekend brunches.

Marvis Whitening Mint Toothpaste – Goodness, I never thought to order this online, I have always stocked up when in NYC – I will order plenty of stock for each cabin – the packaging (and taste) is the best!

Santa Maria Novella Melograno Aftershave – This too now can be ordered online rather than having to go to the stores in Florence, London or NYC. This is perfect to feature on board and the crew can easily reorder. My favourite, fresh pomegranate scent.

100% Capri Bicchiere Hand Blown Drinking Glasses in White and Chocolate – The combination of chocolate brown and white will have great impact for serving drinks on board – we will need a couple of dozen of each.

Etra Throw in Taupe with cream border – I love the luxury and simplicity of this blanket – we will have one for each cabin at the end of the beds as they are perfect for afternoon naps.

Wonki Ware Black Studio Ware Chunky Vase – I will use these on the desks in each cabin for pens and pencils. The slightly irregular shape will ‘tone-down’ the highly detailed and polished furnishings.

Linari Room Diffusers – Great packaging and scents to use in this project, we will fill a closet for the crew to continue to use.

Rustic Wood Barrel – I always like a basket or more textured item in a room to contrast the glamour and polish of other items. This basket will be perfect on a table with a phalaenopsis orchid plant.

Luxe Sea Cloud – Colour Gray – In my search for the perfect hand towels on board, I thought these grey and white ones would be perfect – nice fringe detail!

Billy Baldwin Decorates, Signed to Halston – How smart is this cover with an inscription to Halston….perfect conversation piece sitting on the coffee table (until I take it home myself).

Kuba Cloth from Zaire – I also like this cloth to add an ethnic twist to the sophistication of the boat interiors. Maybe as a table runner or throw on a sofa.

Brass on Black Modern Table Sculpture by Curtis Jere – I fell in love with this immediately – light and simple but so smart. It will be perfect as a centerpiece in the main salon. It is nice to not always need large flower arrangements; this will be much more interesting.

BAIES Bulgarian Rose and Blackcurrant Candle Pot – The black pot looks so chic for the simplicity we are trying to achieve in the cabins, and from a Paris favourite!

Lacquer and Mother of Pearl Tray – Striped tray – always difficult to source smart trays to organise a bathroom vanity. These will be perfect in all rooms.

Custom Names Notepad – Colour Black – Lastly, every room on a boat needs special notepads with the name and logo – I will have these custom made ASAP and stock piled.

    Dear Mr Hamel,
Thank you very much for selecting the Etra throw for your Fetch article! We really appreciate it! They are available in 13 color ways and would be fantastic on a yacht!

Again, the mention is much appreciated!
